Another Notion from Purple Hobbies from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

In this post last week, I talked about some of the notions I had received from Purple Hobbies and how much I loved them. Here’s one more thing I am using every day and loving. This one is called the hand sewing companion. Here, you can see all of the colors and other options for...

Nifty Notions #8 Purple Hobbies Binding Wheel from Podunk Pretties

One day a few weeks ago I was visiting my most loved online quilt shops looking for new to me notions.  As you know I have reviewed several Purple Hobbies products in the last year.  So I decided to pop over to the website to see if there was anything new.   And look what I found.  Isn't it the cutest little Ferris Wheel ever?  Without hesitation it was in my cart and on it's way to Podunk.

Before the review I want to let you know I don't get paid in anyway to review the Purple Hobbies ...

A Box of Surprise and Some Playtime from Podunk Pretties

Who doesn't love a surprise box of goodies?  I purchased this scrap box of fabric from Daisy Cottage Quilts.  I had no idea what would be in the box.  It was listed as a medium flat rate box of scraps, no fabric pictures were included, just a picture of the box.  But Sharon of Daisy Cottage Quilts plays in my color pallet so I was pretty sure I was going to receive some cute fabric scraps.

And Sharon did not disappoint.   I was hoping for reds and yellows because they are the colors are use the most and are ...

~ Nifty Notions #7 ~ Mini Stash 'n Store REVIEW ~ from Podunk Pretties

Today's Nifty Notion is a little item I received in a monthly quilting subscription box a few months ago.  The It's So Emma's Mini Stash 'n Store.

To be honest this is one of those things I would never buy since I tend to lean toward being cheap, practical and more of re-purpose kind of gal.  So it was quickly tucked away in a drawer.  Earlier this week while searching for another forgotten item I stumbled upon The Mini Stash 'n Store  and thought it was time put this little gal to work.  With quick grab of ...

~ Nifty Notions #6 ~ Purple Hobbies Quilt Block Markers ~ WINNER ~ from Podunk Pretties

This weeks Nifty Notion is the Purple Hobbies Quilt Block Markers.   These were sent to me by Heather Snow of Purples Hobbies for review.  My review is honest, good or bad.

So lets get started!  For those of you that like to keep the original packaging for storing your notions and tools you'll love the clear plastic resealable hanging bag.  The letters are in a separate little zip-lock bag.  Both are great for peg board storage.

I felt like the best way to store the markers was right by my sewing machine in my pin cushion.  I took the ...

~ Pinch of This and That ~ from Podunk Pretties

Hello! Happy Quilters!  Spring is in the air and it won't be long before we start seeing spring flowers peeking up through the dull Podunk winter landscape.  The next few weeks will be filled with a lot of extra outdoor chores.  So I'm working hard to finish up a few projects.  This weeks project is the Gingerbread Man quilt.  An afternoon dig through the stash produced this cute little print from Bonnie and Camille's Smitten line of fabric.  It's perfect!

Years ago when I first started buying designer fabrics the selvage of fabric was often was ...

Nifty Notions #5 ~ Jelly Roll Rug Binding Batting Tool ~ GIVEAWAY! ~ from Podunk Pretties

This week for Nifty Notions #5  I'm reviewing another Purple Hobbies product.  The Jelly Roll Batting/Binding Tool was designed by Heather Snow to help with the construction of the Jelly Roll Rug.

There are several different Jelly Roll Rug patterns available and this tool will work with all of them.  Click her to shop for a Jelly Roll Rug pattern.

Unfortunately the clip didn't fit my table.  So I contacted Purple Hobbies to let them know.  They quickly made and shipped a larger tool to fit my table.  How awesome is that!  Great customer service!

It fit ...

~ Nifty Notions #3 ~ Magnetic Pin Cups and Bobbin Clips ~ from Podunk Pretties

This week for Nifty Notions I'm review 2 products from Purple Hobbies. Both of these products were sent to me by the Purple Hobbies after I purchased and reviewed their Blade Saver Thread Cutter and their Binding Folder Clip.  I am not getting paid for this review other than receiving them for review.  This will be an honest review of good, bad or indifferent.  While I love that you trust and value my opinion I encourage each you to seek out more opinions and reviews on any products in the Nifty Notions reviews.

~ Testing, Testing, Testing ~ from Podunk Pretties

Hello sweet quilting friends!  There's been a lot of testing going on here in the studio as I whip up this yummy little gingerbread man quilt.  The first test was trying to sew the mini buttons on by machine.  It only took about 30 seconds to realize it wasn't going to work.  So all I could do was change the plan and stitch them down by hand.  I considered adding them after the quilt had been quilted but it seemed easier to do it now and quilt around them.

Much to my surprise hand stitching the buttons in ...

~ Binding Folder Clip Review ~ from Podunk Pretties

Hello Happy Quilters!  Today I'm going to share my product review of  The Third Hand Binding Folder Clip.  This is not a paid review.  When I purchased this and the BladeSaver Thread Cutter a couple of weeks ago I was in no way affiliated with the manufacturer Purple Hobbies .  When I posted the BladeSaver review you (my loyal followers) wiped out the stock on the website where I made my purchases.  A few of you contacted me to let me know these products were no longer available on my suggested website.
